Shanes favourite band THE CARDIACS on tour in the UK in November

Hey !!! I just felt like telling everyone about a really important event thats happening in the Uk soon.My favourite band THE CARDIACS are heading out on tour in november for the first time in awhile and i am pretty fucking excited.

I have loved this band for many years.

Very hard to describe their sound but thats their beauty - manic punk riffs spiced with chaotic progressive keybord melodies which break down into catchy and memorable passages of greatness and escapism

and we all need a touch of that in our lives dont we??

Their simply isnt a band around today in my opinion that covers such a spectrum of musical feeling and theatrical originality.

If you feel like a dose of enlightenment then please check them out on tour in novemeber, support comes from GOD DAMM WHORES which features GINGER from THE WILDHEARTS as well so thats an extra added bonus too

I will be there for sure

dates are below...cheers Shane

latin American Tour the final dates + Russian dates confirmed

Hello, theres been a lot of confusion over the past few days as to the final dates on the upcoming Latin American leg of the Smear Campaign world tour so heres the final fully confirmed list of shows...

The tour so far...

Todays the home show in Birmingham so looking forward to that.have to say the UK tour so far has been great with great reactions so we cant wait to head up to scotland and ireland also. The craziest show award so far goes to Plymouth at the White Rabbit, you guys were insane last night..we will definatly be maing a return next year..

Barney checks in from the road

Once again, the bill on this No Mercy Festivals tour has been pretty diverse, but it hasn't stopped NAPALM DEATH getting a really nice reception wherever we've been. As ever, we have totally gone for it every night and everything has turned out great. I can't put it more simply than that really. Not to sound cheesy about this, but Europe continues to blow us away with kindness and encouragement. Thank you all.

Concept for back to basics old school UK tour

In Finland Enjoying what so far has been a killer tour and we still have so many shows and places to look forward to - Fucking cold though.

Anyway we have the idea for sometime now to hopefully put together a uk tour of smaller clubs and pubs,as we havent really toured the uk as much as we would have loved in the past.Ocasionally we have been to places as in newtown, wales where we met so many fans and saw such response to a local gig that they aranged there for some local bands that we got to thinking well, maybe we could do an extensive tour in smaller towns in the UK and play city's and towns that noone goes to..

In a nutshell we would love to hear from serious local promoters around the United kingdom who would be up for such an idea.I know theres an abundance of killer up and coming grind/hardcore/death metal bands who will hopefully be into playing their local towns with us also,I have heard from a couple of promoters over the past couple of months and we havent forgotten about you guys

Please only serious enquiries but we would love to see this happen one day soon with killer local opening bands who can maybe help spread the word old school style so we can all have some killer/Fun shows

cheers

shane

Just Played a Blinding, sweaty hot show in Belfort,France...

Hot and sweaty is the word - what a crazy show ! Kids diving everywhere very cool,It was so hot i even had to take my shirt off so apologies for the shock that may have caused but you got to do what you got to do.We are heading into the last week of the tour now and we now face a very long drive to Bilbao,Spain where i am sure its only going to get crazier - lots of old school friends to see so i am psyched.Paris yesterday was a fucking amazing show also, a massive thanks to everyone who is coming out and getting into what we do.Oh yeah and cologne in germany last week rocked as well so again thanks and i hope the next week of shows is as good as the last weeks have been..cheers for now

Scandinavian and East European dates announced

that's right, feeling a bit left out on the current European tour? Go check the tourdates for the Scandinavian and East European dates for January 2007.

When All Is Said and Done video

That is right, here is the first video from Smear Campaign. Up in our mediaplayer, enjoy!

The video was shot during the band's hectic touring schedule by the young, upcoming director and photographer Kevin Wildt. Mark 'Barney' Greenway on the clip:

"It's often hard given the short timeframe of a video to express all the ideas you'd like to, but I think the 'When All Is Said And Done' clip is a nice, short, sharp shock to the system. The idea was to try and compare and contrast the way that elitism drives (often violent) religious activity, and I think we achieved that alongside the usual charged live performance.

That bit where you see me being pulled back by the guy with ropes (who is actually meant to be the guy from the 'Smear Campaign' album cover) really fucking hurt quite a bit - rope burns and all that. Never let it be said that NAPALM DEATH doesn't suffer for its art!"

DEATH BY DECIBELS update

There have been a few changes, please check out the tourdates for the most recent listing if you are planning on attending one of the dates. Better safe than sorry...

Last few days...

The days are blurring as ever on tour but there been some killer shows, yesterday in Munich was amazing i have to say.Overall a great day i went into the city and saw some of the great Architecture and came back to a crazy crowd,it really made me remember why i wanted to play in a band - Lots of energy,Germany has really been amazing !.Before that we celebrated halloween in Slovenia which was a lot of fun,all 3 bands sharing a few beers after the show and of course mitch's Birthday which he was surprisingly quiet for (I think he went for an early celebration the night before!) But many thanks to the guys at the club for a geat night.Friendships are getting stronger between the bands also and its going to be a sad day when the tour finishes but hopefully we get play together again next year on the festivals...

Budapest,Hungary

The european tour is gaining more and more momentum as the days progress. We had a little bit of a slow start but for sure the last few shows in germany and yesteday in prague were great - Although the Matrix show in prague must rank as one of the hottest shows ever,it almost felt like you were buning inside! So today we are in Budapest, its a nice sunny day and it looks like tonights show will be a cool one also.Theres been a lot of fun on the tour and all of the bands have been getting along well which is always a bonus - very relaxed and thats cool.

december 3rd show at the satyricon moved to Hawthorne Theatre

Hey just to let everyone know that december 3rd's show has been moved to the hawthorne theatre in portland

Barney comments on the Monsters of Mayhem tour

The Monsters tour seems like something of a whirlwind. It wasn't always pretty in the RV, but we came, played as fast as possible and then left with positive words in our wake pretty much everywhere. I must admit that I expected some opposition beforehand over the things that the band projects lyrically, but there really was none to speak of. People that usually wouldn't go along to a NAPALM DEATH show (mainly through not really knowing about us) were pretty wide-eyed over the intensity of the band, and have said they will come and see us in December, which is nice.

I'd like to throw out a wide thanks also to all the bands and crew for making us feel so welcome. There was a genuine air of friendliness there, which is always encouraging. A special mention goes out to FIRST BLOOD for sniffing out vegetarian restaurants in the unlikeliest of towns.
