Barney performs guest vocals on new SSS album
Barney comments on his guest appearance:
"Foxy really knows his musical onions and when he had some parts for me to do, I knew it was going to be a gas. The main part had a Discharge-y feel to it, so I was sold on that instantly. Went in, shouted, went home. No fucking about. Good stuff."
Napalm Death in the studio
Here is the first sneak priview of the new Napalm Death album! Watch Shane Embury recording his bass tracks to this manic riff!
The band begins recording new album
NAPALM DEATH have entered Parlour Studio in Kettering, U.K. with longtime producer Russ Russell to begin recording their 14th album for a tentative October release via Century Media Records.

Lyrics to the new song
"Legacy Was Yesterday"
(Music: Shane Embury / Lyrics: Shane Embury / Mark "Barney" Greenway)
Sealed maze of confusion
The mind is perplexed
Faith in the life you choose
A stake in being yourself
Who else can you be?
What else can you be?
True to yourself and forge ahead
And deal with the fucking consequences
By turns we are bemused
We will be stretched taut and ordered
Give a thousand apologies
Trying to work through the guilt
Lashed down to this legacy that was yesterday
Old friend, you’re reviving the pettiness of all the worst memories
From minefield of childhood
to melting pot of frailty
Didn't we grow up?
Or did we just grow apart?
Always looking back - why be so afraid?
Be True to yourself and forge ahead
By turns we are bemused
We will be stretched taut and ordered
Give a thousand apologies
Trying to work through the guilt
Tripping through this legacy that was yesterday
Old friend, you’re reviving the pettiness of all the worst memories
Persisting in this legacy that was yesterday

Decibel magazine with Shane
Fear, Emptiness, Decibel
Before there were blogs there were these things called magazines, and the only metal magazine we still get excited about reading every month is Decibel. Here’s managing editor Andrew Bonazelli…
The fifth installment in the Decibel Flexi Series arrives in the May 2011 ish, and as some of you already know, it’s a brand new face-ripper from Napalm Death, “Legacy Was Yesterday,” their first new material since 2009’s Time Waits for No Slave. Aside from the prospect of Wilson Valdez starting the season at second base for his favorite baseball team, this is easily the best thing to happen to our editor-in-chief in 2011 so far. Anyway, Napalm kicked out this jam especially for Decibel, so not only will you not hear “Legacy” anywhere else, but hopefully (since it rules), it’ll be a preview of the new album, which they’re writing probably this very second. Take a test drive right here.

Here's a complete story.

Band's plans for the follow-up to 2009's "Time Waits For No Slave"
"We will be starting more or less from scratch in January 2011 making a new album and will record in May. Don't read that wrong — it doesn't take us that much time to get our stuff together, it's just that Russ Russell, our producer, has his hands full until May. It does seem a while since 'Time Waits…', but we recorded the previous few albums in quick succession so thought we'd hold back for a change. Time can indeed fucking wait." - stated Mark "Barney" Greenway
NAPALM DEATH To Record 'Mystery Song' Later This Month
Mitch Harris posted the following message:
"NAPALM DEATH has just confirmed a studio date later this month for a mystery song! . . . It's [got] nothing to do with the new [NAPALM DEATH] album [and] it's not a cover song either. . . I will give more details when I have official clearance to do so."
NAPALM DEATH, NEVERMORE Confirmed For U.K.'s BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR Festival
NAPALM DEATH and NEVERMORE will make exclusive U.K. festival appearances at this year's edition of the Bloodstock Open Air festival, set to take place August 12-14, 2011 at Catton Hall in Derbyshire, United Kingdom.
Commented NAPALM DEATH: "We are really looking forward to playing Bloodstock this year as it's always a fun day especially seeing as our friends AT THE GATES are playing who we toured with many years ago. It's going to be our only U.K. show of 2011 as well and we will play a song or two from our new album, so it's gonna be a seriously heavy day!"
Added NEVERMORE: "We're absolutely stoked to return to the U.K. again to play the mighty Bloodstock festival! We had such a good time in the U.K. on our tour and even filmed the 'Emptiness Unobstructed' clip during our show in London, so we know we got some diehard over there. We look forward to seeing you all again!"
